Draft — under legal review. This text has not been cleared by counsel. It is published so that it can be read and tested before launch; it is accepted together with the Partner Terms and takes effect only when a cleared version is published.

This Attestation is made by the Partner to ECOMO.WORLD LLC ("OpinVera") and to the readers of the Platform. It is short because it has one subject.

1. The firewall

OpinVera never charges for scoring, coverage, or a change to a score. Every price is for display rights, analytics, reader acquisition, or commissioned research.

The score, the ballot, the published result and the method are about the work. They are computed in the same way for every item from every outlet, whether or not the outlet is a Partner, whether or not it pays, and whatever it pays. No plan, fee, sponsorship, licence, trial, credit or courtesy buys coverage, buys a score, changes a score, or changes the method; and no cancellation, dispute or complaint loses any of them.

2. What the Partner attests

By accepting, the Partner attests, and will continue to attest for as long as it holds a partner account, that:

• it understands that no payment it makes to OpinVera buys a score, coverage, or a change to either;
• it has not been offered, and will not seek, any such thing in return for payment;
• it will not state or imply to any reader, advertiser, regulator, court or other person that a payment to OpinVera affects the scoring of its content or of anyone else's;
• it will not describe the Verified Partner mark, a plan, a sponsorship or a licence as a rating, an endorsement, or a statement by OpinVera about the quality of its journalism — the mark says that the outlet's claim is verified and that it participates, nothing more;
• it will not mobilise its staff or audience to vote on its own items or a competitor's in a coordinated way, and understands that a vote so cast is handled under the Prohibited Content and Behavior Policy like any other manipulation.

3. What OpinVera attests in return

OpinVera attests that the entitlements an account buys are held apart from the service that computes results, by design and by test, so that a billing fault cannot move a score; that it will publish the method by which results are computed; that it will not accept payment for any of the things named in §1; and that where a result has been moved by fraud it will correct it publicly, whoever the fraud favoured.

4. Consequence

A breach of §2 is a material breach of the Partner Terms. OpinVera may say publicly that an outlet has breached this Attestation, after giving the Partner fourteen (14) days to respond.
